Mango Kush is an Indica-dominant strain. Its strong flavors and aromas are reminiscent of the tropical fruit for which it is named, but it also carries a hint of banana.
Mango Kush has a THC count of up to 16% and averages around 10-12%. For most users, this strain kicks in immediately, producing both a strong body stone and euphoria. Many also find that this strain makes them more open and talkative. Occasionally, it can cause ‘the giggles,’ especially with higher doses or first-time use.
Mango Kush’s effects typically last for one to two hours. It is a classic ‘munchies’ strain, and many patients use it to calm nausea and induce appetite. This strain also causes drowsiness, usually starting halfway through the duration of its effects. Negative effects may include the usual cotton mouth, dry eyes, paranoia, dizziness, and anxiety.
It is not recommended for daytime use but can work wonders on chronic aches and pains, especially joint pain. Mango Kush relieves insomnia and may also ease headache and migraine. Patients also use it to reduce inflammation and treat stress and anxiety.
Mango Kush’s exact history is mostly unknown, but it likely comes from a cross between Mango, by KC Brains, and the famed Hindu Kush. Almost never growing taller than five feet, this strain grows well both indoors and out. It finishes flowering in nine to eleven weeks and often delivers a high yield of over 400 grams per square meter.
Mangos parentage is part KC 33 and part Mango from a hippie fellow who grew it for 30 years, then let KC use it as a cross in 1991. It is a 100 percent indica strain that grows large and produces prodigiously. Dont let Mangos slow start fool you – this variety will eventually rival the impressive size of many KC varieties, which are especially intended for outdoor grows. If you want Mango to stay at an average size in an outdoor garden, allow only 3 weeks of vegetative time and transplant outdoors as late as July in Northern latitudes. Mango can also be grown in an indoor garden, but needs a lot of space.
